On the way to wherever it was I was going, Sue's appeared on my Yelp map as a well reviewed restaurant that was still open and so here we landed. I was the last customer to come in and by the time I finished my meal, they were already flipping chairs over onto the tables to clean up for the night. I was assured that I did not need to rush. As if. I got the cheese baked oysters to start. Oh, my. They were heavenly. Very tasty, very cheesy, and the garlic bread soaked up the bits that my spoon couldn't get. Wow. HAVE THIS! For main, I went with the Grouper Nouveau. I very nice sized filet, topped with onions and mushrooms and peppers. Very good. I had the cucumber salad and the gouda cheese grits. Sadly, the cheese grits had no cheesy flavor at all. Rather bland really. But cooked well for sure. Overall, a very tasty meal. Great service from Carol. Thank you!

I ordered sue's oyster for appetizer, hamburger steak and seafood platter for entry. Seafood platter was okay, but the oyster was so bad. It smelled so bad and also waitress service was terrible. We ordered one appetizer, she brought two plates and was telling how we ordered two which we did not. She fianlly admitted that she was wrong, didnt even say sorry just took one plate out from us. She never had smile on her face, and i saw her talking to other waitress shit about us. worst service ever but she still tried hard to get her tip at the end it was funny.

Good old fashion, stick to your ribs country cooking. That's exactly what you get from Sue's. And - on top of some super tasty food - you get amazing service. I mean first class southern hospitality at its finest. The interesting piece about the food at Sue's is the eclectic mix of Creole cooking with southern comfort food. We ordered an assortment of Cajun and southern dishes and all found ourselves licking the bowl on the seafood gumbo and the crawfish dishes. Although the food is really delicious, most of all - I can't speak highly enough of the southern hospitality. I felt like I was the most important person in the restaurant and the staff went out of their way to make our meal really enjoyable.

Sues is right down the road from the house the Mrs and I are buying and so we thought we'd give them a try. Arrived at 5 pm on a Saturday in early June. She ordered the grouper creole for $27.95 with a side of grits while I opted for the fried oysters platter with coleslaw and grilled cabbage for sides ($16.95).. The fried oysters were excellent. They weren't huge oysters but were very tasty and the portion was good size. Coleslaw was homemade and fresh. The grouper creole was served on a bed of rice and was very good. The Mrs said that her gouda grits were awesome. Service was very fast and friendly. Not crowded. We'll be back.

Small and quaint. Friendly staff and the boudin balls are worth going for. This place seems like a cross between a tiny oyster bar and restaurant almost as if it can't decide what it wants to be, but that's quite okay with me. That's kind of how a lot of restaurants on the Gulf Coast were before the chain restaurants came in. I have no problem with the chains, but it is nice to go somewhere that's got some local personality. This place is akin to the popular J. Michaels restaurant but, as far as I know, under independent management. Not really a place I go all the time, but I always go back when the mood strikes me.

Great home cooked food. If you want the specials make sure you get in an order early or else you will be stuck with one of their normal menu masterpieces. J Michael Grouper was buttery and tasty. Shrimp and grouda cheese grits was very good also. Cheese baked oysters were a sky rocket inflight. Wanted the chicken and sausage jambalaya but I missed out and had a very good burger with homemade onion rings and fried okra. 8 of us ate here and we all were very satisfied with the southern home cooking.

Went for lunch on a Tuesday. My BF had the fried shrimp platter and I had the vegetables: cabbage, squash, fried sweet potatoes. He also ordered the Bodi balls as an appetizer . All were fresh but not a cheap place to eat, but food was good. Typical of southern cooking, they like their black pepper.

We went late at night on a Sunday We started with a doz fresh oysters , which were very good We looked over the menu which has a lot of variety from appetizers , soups , salads , baskets , dinners , and sandwiches. We finally decided on the burger , which is a 1/2 pound burger cooked to order and it comes with fries or chips Our burgers were cooked perfectly and very flavorful and juicy. We will go back to sample more menu items and dessert. I would recommend them to everyone and the staff are very friendly and make you feel at home.

Absolutely one of the best local places to eat! The fabulous fish sandwich is outstanding!! Matter of fact, everything I've ever had was wonderful. Super nice staff, reasonable prices and on point food. The daily specials are always fresh from soups, sandwiches and veggies to fresh seafood and everything in between! Sue's is the place!!!!

First time to visit. We ordered grilled shrimp and cod. Server fast and friendly but disappointed with portion sizes, they were small and the flavor of food was so so. Not worth the price we paid.. Won't go back

First time at Sue's. Everything we ordered was great. I ordered the burger and fries and it was excellent. I was impressed to see the owner greeting people, busting tables, and sweeping floors. It shows she really cares. Service was great. We will be back!

Good food, fairly high prices. Ordered the $7 shrimp appetizer, received literally 5 fried shrimp in a basket. Asked the waitress if that was really all that we would receive for $7. She was very understanding, went to the kitchen for more, and returned five minutes later with an additional 5 or 6 shrimp in a basket. Otherwise, the rest of the meal was great.

Great local restaurant! I'm in town for a week on business and was craving oysters. A lot of restaurants were closed today on Sunday but this one was open and had good reviews. So I stopped by and sat at the bar, it was clear I was not from around bc I got a few stares and questions as to where I was from lol. I'm from Miami. Anyway, I ordered a dozen oysters (bakers dozen) ;) and a cup of the grouper chowder which was today's soup special. Oh and a couple beers! The oysters were really good! Not salty like I've had at other places. Came with crackers, horseradish and cocktail sauce. Oh and of course there's some hot sauce at arms reach. The service and staff was great! They were super nice and friendly. If I'm not mistaken I believe Sue herself walked in as I was eating. Her daughter was the one who attended me. She was great! Also Cody, the oyster shucker was very friendly and did a great job with my oysters! I'm pretty sure ill come back this week!

Great food and nice atmosphere. Enjoyed every bite. I had the beef stroganoff. My husband had the roast beef sandwich. We were both happy with our selection.

Awesome local restaurant! Staff is extremely friendly and helpful Some of the coldest oysters in town! Prices are very affordable and the food is delicious!

My favorite place for good food in a casual atmosphere. New menu items are being introduced. Try the cucumber salad or the grilled pimento cheese. And don't forget the seafood and dessert! Wait staff are fun, knowledgeable and eager to please. This is a great place!

Finnegan's Dwaddy has been eating at J. Michael's on the beach for years as they are a Bay County institution. Now you can get the same exact food and recipes in town as well! How awesome is that!!! Finnegan's Dwaddy loves their open face roast beef sandwich and their french fries are totally awesome!!! He also likes their grilled chicken and several of their seafood dishes. J. Michael's ex-wife Sue has opened this restaurant and it is already attracting quite a crowd. Will be dog friendly during the warmer months with seating at the front. Highly recommended by Winnegan and me Dwaddy. Tell Sue that Winnegan sent you!!! And you are very likely to see Winnegan and Dwaddy in there as well!

This place was so wonderful, I don't know where to start!!! We are staying in Panama City and I spent over an hour looking for a place for dinner....I wanted local seafood flavors without breaking the bank (that dinner is for tonight!). I am SO GLAD we picked Sue's on 390. We ate here for dinner last night. First off, they close at 9. I called a little after 8 when we were on our way to make sure it was okay, and I was told to come on over. We got there just before 8:30 and we were warmly welcomed. It was husband and I and our 2 kids....aged 2 and 1. The menu had plenty to choose from. I ordered Shrimp J. Michael "Old Style" (all mixed in 1 bowl) and it was delicious! It had just the right spice. I also had a slide of cole slaw...also delicious. It was not your typical, soppy slaw. The dressing was tangy, and peppery, and had just enough on it. My husband ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce, since it was the special and a house favorite. We also got that for the kids to share because they love noodles! It was really a delicious, and hearty sauce! My husband also ordered a cup tomato soup...another house favorite. You could tell they used fresh tomatoes! It was yummy! We also had an order of the corn fritters. I loved them, but even more, I loved the voodoo sauce they came with. I'm currently snacking on some extra garlic bread from last night and dipping it in the sauce. To finish, we had a piece of the key lime pie....so deliciously refreshing! The crust was amazing. One of the best key lime pies I have ever had! Enough about the food (if that's even possible) let me tell you about the service! Our waitress, Carol, was the sweetest waitress I have ever had! She kept loading k8us up with garlic bread (so glad she did!) She was so nice to my kids! She took such great care of us, it was like dining with family. On our way out, my 2 year old asked to get a candy from the machine, and before I could pull my quarter out, here comes our waitress Carol with a quarter for her saying "I got it!" Carol alone was worth the 20 minutes drive! I told you how much food we got...our bill was only $36!!! Granted we got a kids meal to share between the 2, but still! That for 4 full people for under $40! Can't beat that! Whenever we're in Panama City Beach, we'll be heading to Sue's on 390!

Home town feel for even this city boy. The service was amazing everyone was very nice. I was told for my first visit I should try the Grouper sandwich but was warned it is a messy challenge. It was pretty damn awesome simple delicious and a good price to swallow. I will be back if I get the chance. Just sorry I didn't go there first well on my trip.

Service was ok. The prices were way too high for this type of restaurant. The grouper special was $19.95. Grouper market prices are $21.95 a pound. There was maybe 1/4 pound of fish. Even the ticket shows that the fish basket was $11.95 (that's two sides and two fritters aka hush puppies) and the grouper was an up charge of $8.00. Did I mention a pound of grouper is $21.95? Very bad value for this price. If you want to spend a lot of money on dinner go to Bonefish or the Shrimp Boat.

I'll start off by saying that I did enjoy the service provided, our waitress and the woman at the counter were both very nice. My table had the Cheese Baked Oysters, Sue's Favorite Oysters, the sauteed shrimp, okra, and french fries. For an establishment to call itself an oyster bar, I would expect to get oysters in a shell... Our oysters came out on a plate and were so covered with cheese that I couldn't even make out where the oyster was. The Sue's Favorite was practically onion soup, and again, couldn't even tell if the dish included oysters. It was pretty apparent to me that the oysters used were from a frozen bag- highly disappointed at the $10 price for half a dozen. The shrimp came in a bowl of butter and weren't anything special. The okra and french fries were okay, at best. I didn't try any of the other items on their menu, so they could have some hidden treasures. I will definitely stick to going to Hunt's for my oysters from now on because their quality is far superior for about half the price.

I had the Seafood Platter. The fried oysters and shrimp with Voo Doo sauce are worth the drive. The fish was just OK. I will order only oysters and shrimp the next time I am in town. The service was very good.
